Il Desco Bistro
Here's good news for gourmets: Il Desco is a Bistro in the heart of Florence's old town center opened by the Bargiacchi family, the owners of Il Guelfo Bianco hotel.
The atmosphere is warm and informal; it's a new place where you can enjoy, simple, fresh cuisine made from products of excellent quality. The family's organic farm, La Croce in Reggello, provides the vegetables, extra-virgin olive oil and other delicacies, while the deli meats and cheeses come from local craft producers. This makes even a snack a special occasion.
Homemade cakes and coffee brighten a “lingering” lunch. For dinner there are typical dishes where egg pasta is the star. Don't miss the delicious “al coltello” dishes, raw fish or meat beaten with a knife, like tuna tartar and thin slices of Chianina beef. To warm body and spirit, they are accompanied by a selection of Chianti Classico, Rufina and Brunello di Montalcino wines.
In the afternoon, there is always a selection of fresh sweets to enjoy with infusions and tea. Many products are for sale.
